If Your Tardis Starts Smoking, Grab a Cup of Tea!
If you are a fan of Lapsang Souchong, give our smoky gingerbread tea a try. This smoky gingerbread tea blend starts out with Lapsang Souchong mixed with Ceylon Black tea. Then, we’ve added in some cinnamon, star anise, cocoa beans, ginger, safflowers, white chamomile, and natural gingerbread flavor to create a blend that reminds us of hanging out at a bonfire with friends and family, while making homemade s’mores. Oh, we almost forgot to mention our secret ingredient: Fireball Infused Sugar (turbinado sugar, Fireball) to just give this blend a rounded bit of cinnamon sweetness.
Lapsang Souchong is a black tea with a very distinct flavor profile. It is native to the Wuyi mountains of the Fujian Province, China. It is smoky yet slightly sweet. The tea leaves are usually dried over a fire of pine wood and/or pine needles which is what gives this tea its distinct smokiness. Lapsang Souchong is a bold black tea usually enjoyed in the morning but will make an excellent choice any time of day. It also stands up very well to milk, cream, or sugar. In fact, give Smoking Tardis a try with a pinch of maple sugar or syrup, and travel to an entirely new dimension.
While straight Lapsang Souchong may not be everyone’s cup of tea, our smoky gingerbread blend is a great way to give it a try as the intense smokiness is mellowed a bit with the addition of the warm spices. We think both hearty Lapsang Souchong tea drinkers and newbies alive will appreciate this special blend.
Just a note on our Fireball infused sugar. While we do use real Fireball to infuse the turbinado sugar, the alcohol content does cook out at about 174 degrees Fahrenheit.
