Serrano Ham – Boneless, 12 Month

Our Serrano Ham by Mitica is a key element in the Spanish culture. Jamon Serrano means the ham is mountain cured and has some key differences from Italian prosciutto that some argue make it more flavorful and a superior ham. We’re not going to get into a debate about, so we’ll just let you taste for yourself.

Redondo Iglesias produces these hams and operates a third generation family company with a tradition of creating wonderful dry-aged hams. Spanish hams are aged at a higher temperature and no lard is used in the curing process which is what gives them their distinct flavor. At harvest, the hams are buried in Mediterranean Sea salt and then moved to aging rooms for a period of 17 months. They cut no corners in their process and it creates a delicious, sweet, and flavorful ham perfect for nearly any occasion.

Try our Serrano Ham on it’s own or pair it any of our selection of Spanish cheeses and your favorite water crackers. This works very well as part of a charcuterie board or as side feature to a cheese plate. Pair Serrano Ham with a Spanish white wine like Verdejo, or red wine drinkers can pair it with a flavorful Rioja.
