This almond black tea blend is inspired by Lady Olenna Tyrell from the HBO series Game of Thrones, and George R.R. Martin’s epic fantasy series.

Lady Tyrell was the elderly matriarch of House Tyrell, one of the great houses of the seven kingdoms. She was witty, sarcastic, intriguing, yet charming and definitely knew how to cut down her enemies. The Tyrell sigil was a rose, and they grew all around Highgarden. Her barbed wire sarcasm rolled off her spiked tongue and earned her the popular nickname ‘Queen of Thorns’

Lady Tyrell was as sassy and salty as they come, and you just can’t deny that she was the most forward thinking of the whole lot. Although she lost the war in the end, her confidence and attitude was a rare delight to watch.

This tea blend hails that witty dame with a blend of almonds and roses, playing to both her hard and soft sides. The cardamom represents her spunk with just the right amount of barb, and the vanilla is as creamy as the sharp one-liners that rolled off her tongue. The Lady did enjoy her sweets, so this delectable blend is reminiscent of a rose macaron.

We all would have preferred to see this great lady drinking a cup of Queen of Thorns as her last drink. She could have enjoyed the taste of her final beverage as she delivered her final fait accompli. While this was the beginning of the end for House Tyrell, this tea blend lives on for all to enjoy.
