Even the thought of having your tea stolen should send shivers down your spine. Thank goodness we are here to save the voyage with a double earl grey tea blend. Yes, you heard it right! Jean-Luc’s Replicator Blend has twice the earl grey for twice the sipping pleasure!

The majority of Earl Greys are a black tea base with natural bergamot oil. So, we’ve decided to boldly go where no tea has gone before and combine a Pu-erh with a Gunpowder Green and double the bergamot yumminess!

If you are unfamiliar with gunpowder green tea, this is a Chinese green tea that is rolled and compressed into little tea balls that resemble pellets. In China it is referred to as “pearl tea”. English travelers thought it resembled gunpowder so that name has been the one that has stuck for all these years. Once you steep these pellets, they explode in your cup, turning into long beautiful leaves. Gunpowder green tea is also a bit higher than regular green tea in caffeine due to its preparation. Combined with the Pu-erh tea in this blend, you are going to be enjoying a very nice caffeinated cuppa at warp speed!

While Jean-Luc prefers his Earl Grey hot, don’t be afraid to try this double Earl Grey blend iced or with a bit of milk and sugar. It will hold up well to both. While we recommend brewing this blend for 4 minutes as if it was a black tea, please feel free to experiment with blending times and water temperatures to arrive at the perfect melding of flavors for you. You can also enjoy steeping your leaves a second or third time.
