Description
From the famed Giddapahar Tea Estate in the Himalayas. Giddapahar is one of the most respected Darjeeling gardens, known for producing hand-crafted Darjeeling with the elusive “muscatel” flavors. This is one of the most beautiful first-flush Darjeelings we’ve seen in recent times. Its floral aroma mixes with exotic spices and honey notes. The infusion is a bright yellow color with just a hint of reddish-pink.
Currently, Darjeelings with more floral notes are trending. This means first-flush Darjeelings are being produced with virtually no “fermentation” and a minimal amount of rolling. The unfortunate result is that notes of astringency and raw harshness that can be off-putting to many tea drinkers. We are pleased that this harvest of fine first-flush Darjeeling came with the right amount of rolling and “fermentation,” resulting in a smooth and full-bodied cup with interesting spice and floral notes. We can’t wait for you to try it!
