Loose Leaf Black Tea
Grown in the upper reaches of the Wuyi mountains in Fujian Province – Shounin County, China, Golden Monkey black tea is a flavorful full-bodied tea. Only the bud and golden tipped first leaves are picked when this tea is harvested. It has less astringency and is rich in flavor with hints of cacao. Golden Monkey has a medium caffeine level and is very high in antioxidants.
According to legend, monkeys were trained to pluck this tea because the prized leaves were in the steep mountain region where workers could not reach.
