Description

For years now, Brazil has been the world’s largest producer of coffee. It does not seem like they will be slowing down anytime soon, who would when you have 33%+ of the market. Cerrado is a relatively new name in coffee growing regions in Brazil, and their climate helps grow some great varieties. Besides being blessed with nutrient rich soil, the consistent rain, high daytime temperatures, and a dry winter season make for great growing conditions. Our Café Do Brazil is a well-balanced cup with sweet notes all around.

Quick Facts:

  • Origin: Minas Gerais, Cerrado, Brazil
  • Roast: Medium
  • Process: Natural
  • Altitude: 900-1250m
  • Varietal: Bourbon
  • Cupping Notes: Walnut, chocolate, plum and brown sugar. Yes please.

The Natural Process:

This coffee is also one of our few “Naturally Processed” coffees. This does not imply it is healthier than others, but rather that the fruit around the coffee bean (seed) is not removed and washed away before sun-drying, which also provides a natural fermentation. This imparts flavors unique to the coffees that undergo this process such as berry fruits, a wine-like sweetness, and often a fuller body and mouthfeel.
