Biryani is a rice-based meal made with spices. The turmeric in this spice blend helped to nickname Biryani as “yellow rice.” The meal originated in Iran and was brought to South Asia by travelers, where is it now very popular. Use this spice blend to make biryani rice, then top with any meat, fish, eggs, or vegetables. Biryani chicken is also an excellent dish.
