Simply brown one onion in olive oil, add 1 pound meat of choice, 28 oz. can of chopped tomatoes (or 3 pounds fresh tomatoes), 1 can beer or 1 1/2 cups red wine, and contents of spice packet. Rinse beans and remove any shriveled beans or debris and add beans to the pot.
